Out and About in Inverness
Inverness is the capital of the
Highlands of Scotland. The city lies where the River Ness enters the
Moray Firth and is a natural hub for various transport links. A
settlement was established by the 6th century AD. The town was first
granted a Royal character in the 13th century and gained City status
in 2000. 5 miles to the East is the site of the 1746 Battle of
Culloden.
